To alleviate poverty is a major task of every citizen & ministry. AnanthKumar’s contribution in this direction was as follows

1 VAMBAY [Valmiki Ambedkar Awaz Yojana] where 51 lakh houses were sanctioned throughout India for the poor.
2 Instrumental in convincing the center to raise the level of Almatti dam, thereby irrigating 1.5-lakh acres.
3 Instrumental in getting the Golden Quadrilateral sanctioned which saw over 700 Kms of road through Karnataka getting upgraded.
4 Delhi Metro was a land mark development in the history of Indian Urban Development. Built in record time it adheres to International standards.
5 Land allotted to Press club at Delhi.
6 In order to help physically challenged citizens, the bye – laws of Unified Building rules were modified, to facilitate their free movement.
7 As a tribute to the Martyrs of the Police force, a magnificent structure has been sanctioned on the first anniversary of the attack on the Parliament house, where glowing tributes were made to the police personnel who laid down their lives while protecting Indian sovereignty.
8 Building technology assistance was provided at various states by organizing exhibitions on cost effective & innovative building materials & technologies.
